Teachers Learning Together

While students were enjoying Wednesday afternoon off from school, TSD teachers were working together to create deeper, richer learning opportunities for our students with their CAT (Content Area Teams) group. Teachers in each content area spent the afternoon focused on instruction and learning. This time was beneficial for teachers to collaborate with peers from other buildings with the #OneTroy goal to improve student learning.

Pathologist & Troy Police Forensics Presentations

On Tuesday, Smith parent and pathologist, Dr. Boyanton, visited our Science 6 classes to share pictures, slides, and information related to DNA. His experiences and witty presentation were engaging and extended students' learning. Then on Wednesday, the Troy Police Department talked to our 6th grade scientists about how they use DNA in their forensics investigations--a cool way to extend our classroom learning. THANK YOU to both Dr. Boyanton and TPD for helping to deepen our students' learning!

Beyond Black & White

Beyond Black & White 2017 - Stories of Us is an event that allows for our diverse community to honor and reflect on both diversity; who we are, and inclusion; what we do. In our efforts to define and embody World Class by 2020, time spent reflecting on our value-added diversity is not only time well-spent, but a necessary component to completing our mission. Deepening our own learning about who we are and what we can accomplish together as a diverse community is something worth highlighting.
