Greenfield-Central School Foundation Red Letter Gala: Greenfield-Central School Foundation is holding their annual Red Letter Gala event on Saturday, September 28th. This is a great way to learn about our schools, celebrate this year's hall of fame inductees, and help grant a wish for a teacher. Please see the flier attached for more information. If you wish to register for the event you can do so at the following link:
Parent Volunteers: Our volunteer profile form is available for the 19-20 school year. Just click the link below! You have to be approved to work as a classroom volunteer and to chaperone field trips. The system has a delay, so you want to be sure to take care of this well in advance of volunteering.
Lunch Accounts: You may put lunch money in your child's account at www.ezschoolpay.com. There is a small fee and you will need your child's student number found in PowerSchool. Lunch money may also be submitted by check. Please be sure to keep your child's lunch account in good standing. Additionally, our cafeteria computer system does not have the capabilities to put a "block" on student lunch accounts for purchasing extra lunch items. Please talk to your child if you do not want them purchasing extra items.
Book Rental: You may still submit this if you have not. Thanks to those who have already paid or set up payment plans. If you are on a deferred payment, then the due date will be September 20, 2019. Click on the button for the fees.
Staffing Update: We are pleased to share that we have hired a new library assistant after a careful search. Mrs. Crystal Stanley will begin in this position full time on September 3.
Transportation: Things are going very well in the car line! Thanks for making the adjustment and prioritizing student safety.
As a reminder, we have three standard dismissal options: bus, car rider, and student/parent foot walker at Door 1. Keep our walking students at Door 1 safe by not parking in this lot. Our front entrance is not a car pick up or drop off area. You should not park in that area unless you are taking care of school business or signing out a student for an appointment.
As a reminder, there is no longer foot traffic pick up in the car rider line. Please do not meet students under our awning at door 15 or on the sidewalk.
School Dismissal Manager: We had a great first week using this as our primary method of communication for student absences and dismissal.
PTO: This week you received an update from PTO and a form to fill out to join the PTO email list. Please fill that out and return it to your child's teacher. If you need to contact our PTO, you may reach them by sending a message to email@example.com. Their first meeting is Wednesday, Sept. 11 @ 2:30 PM here at Harris.
Immunizations: If you have not turned in your child's shot records, you will receive a letter in the mail in the next few days, and we will be contacting you by phone. If you are unsure of your status, please feel free to reach out to us. All records must be received by 8:00 am on September 20th. The Hancock Health Department offers immunizations and you can contact them to set this up. If you need assistance contact our school nurse at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us at 317-467-6731.
Attendance: We encourage all of our students to attend school whenever they are well enough to do so. Good school attendance is important in helping students achieve academic and social/emotional success.
Perfect Attendance: This is defined as ALL day of EVERY day. We understand that this is an important achievement for many students, but nothing is more important than your student’s health, so do not send them to school if they are ill simply so that they can receive this award at the end of the year.
