Magna Carta "No free man shall be seized or imprisoned, or stripped of his rights or possessions, or outlawed or exiled, or deprived of his standing in any other way, nor will we proceed with force against him, or send others to do so, except by the lawful judgement of his equals or by the law of the land. To no one will we sell, to no one deny or delay right or justice."

WHAT IS MAGNA CARTA

The Magna Carta is a document made to make peace in 1215 during a political dilemma.

The Magna Carta contains 63 clauses that were created to make everyone part of law and giving everyone equal rights except for serfs and slaves.

The serfs and slaves were not happy of their rights being deducted from the Magna Carta. This caused many uprisings by the serfs and slaves.

THE CLAUSE FROM THE MAGNA CARTA

No free man shall be seized or imprisoned, or stripped of his rights or possessions, or outlawed or exiled, or deprived of his standing in any other way, nor will we proceed with force against him, or send others to do so, except by the lawful judgement of his equals or by the law of the land. To no one will we sell, to no one deny or delay right or justice.

OUR EXPLANATION OF THE CLAUSE MEANING

Our group thought that this clause meant that any man, free of any slavery duties, had the right not to be sent to jail or sentenced a punishment without having a chance to prove the accusation wrong. Any free man would not get assaulted by the accuser or by men the accuser may have sent unless it had been proved that the man had committed the crime and everyone agreed to the punishment in a royal courtroom. No man would be sold and no man would be deprived of his right of immediate justice.

5 CLAUSES WE THINK SHOULD BE IN A PRESENT DAY TEENAGER MAGNA CARTA

A child has a right to have shelter. Which means a suitable place for a child to live. Homeless children from the age of 0 months-18 years should be immediately given shelter and their guardians should be given shelter with them. If there are no guardians present with the, they should be sent to a childcare center or adoption center until a family takes the child in.

A child has a right to health care. Which means a child will be immediately attended to when fallen sick. If healthcare is out of reach, a professional should be sent to make sure the child is healthy. Also, there should be a health care center in every city.

A child should not be permitted to drink until after the age of 21. Therefore, nobody is allowed to buy a child beer unless over the age of 19. Children under the age of 21 will not be allowed to attend parties with beer involved, enter bars or liquor shops, or be sitting with people drinking beer.

To add to the prevent clause, the legal age of driving should also be extended to 21 to prevent drinking and driving incidents. Therefore, to get a license, you will need to be over the age of 21. You will be allowed to take a written driving exam at the age of 20.

A child has the right to live in a nonviolent area. This means in a warfare area, children should be the first priority to be evacuated from the warfare area. If a child is living with violent parents or guardians, and the child wishes to be removed from the family, the child will immediately sent to a child care center or adoption center until a family decides to take the child in.
