Below is a little bit about me!
In 2015, I started my teaching career as a sixth grade ELA/Social Studies teacher at George Washington Elementary. I taught there for four years, and now I am starting my new journey as the 7th grade ELA/Social Studies teacher at Lorca Elementary. I am excited and grateful to be a part of the Lorca family!
I love my students, and they are the reason why I love my job so much! I learn new things from them every day, whether its a mind-blowing insight that they provide after reading a text or teaching me the floss dance (which I still do not know how to do). They bring laughter to my day every day!
I received my Bachelor Degree in Secondary Education English at DePaul Univerisity. While there, I also studied abroad in Madrid, Spain for four months. It was one of the best experiences of my life! I always encourage my students to enter a study abroad program when they move on to higher education as it allows you to see so much of the world and helps you experience a new cultural perspective.
I recently received my Masters of Arts in Education at Dominican University. While there, I also received my endorsement to teach English Language Learners as well as gained knowledge and skills in applying technology in the classroom.
I come from a family of six! I have my wonderful and supportive parents and two awesome sisters. I also have one crazy but lovable dog, who consumes most of my photo storage space on my phone!
