The battle of Lepanto was a battle that took place the 7th October, 1571 in the Gulf of Patras. In the battle, they faced the turks. The battle arose because the sultan ordered Ali Bajá to present battle to the Christians.
A very important person was there and this was Miguel de Cervantes. That is why they call him the "Mancho of Lepant", because he was beaten in the battle and his arm stayed still.
