Snapshot 1 December 2016

Dear Eastsiders

It seems like just the other day that we released our first edition of Snapshot for the year. As that edition went out, we were excited for what lay ahead for 2016. Now, as the end of the year approaches, we can take a little look back and give thanks!

Our “Love Ran Red” Easter services were a great highlight and led us into the “One Tshwane” Campaign which saw over 160 churches come together to run a series focusing on the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Then, just a few weeks later hundreds of children descended on the property for another highlight of the year – Game On Holiday Club! As always, holiday club did not disappoint, and many lives were changed and families reached for the Kingdom of God.

Just a few weeks later we went into our 40 Day Journey, where we looked at the Bible from a different perspective. This year there has been much positive feedback on the devotions, mostly that they helped people get into The Word in a new way.

Our Titus series just after 40 Days was preached by a team which included Dalene Reyburn and Steve Burrows and now, here we are! The Carol Service is over, and this is the final edition of Snapshot for the year!

We hope that 2016 has been a year of great blessing, and we look forward to sharing the journey with you in 2017.

Just a reminder that our evening services are suspended until the 22nd of January, so enjoy the time off with your family. We’d love you to join us for the morning services which will continue at 9am every Sunday. Remember to invite a friend to our Christmas service, which will also be at 9am.

John 10:10b

"I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."

Have a great, blessed Christmas Season.

What an unbelievable privilege to have been part of this year's Carol Service!

The pre-service picnic was a blast and we have to thank Mia and her team for their hard work in keeping our gardens so beautiful.

Mark and his team outdid themselves at the service! The music, narrative, choir and kids were amazing and worked together beautifully to create a truly unique Christmas experience.

As a mother, it's hard to imagine what Mary must have been thinking and feeling. Today my littlest person went on a bus trip for the first time and my heart has been in my throat since she left. It gives me a new appreciation and understanding for the absolute wrench that being Jesus' Mom must have been. Thank you to the team for conveying that so poignantly!

Sungarden Nursery School Graduation

Reciting a poem together

The end of an era for our pre-schoolers was celebrated at graduation day. Learners opened the proceedings in prayer. Children introduced themselves and told moms and dads what they want to be when they are big. Interesting career choices ranged from a Ninja, through fire fighter, doctor and astronaut. Learners received beautiful graduation certificates and entertained parents and friends with a poem about growing through the year and becoming “big”.

Principal Shann challenged the learners to consider what they could give to God for Him to use, just as the little boy in the story gave what he had – two fish and five loaves – and how God used that to meet the needs of many.

The learners sang a cute song about their school, then enjoyed a photo session with mom and dad.

Stuff to remember!
