BG Explainers Series The BG excellence charter
What is the Charter?
The Charter is a collection of projects that all children at BG take part in during every school year. For 2021-2022, there are 39 projects that include 'Book of Barnsley'; 'We Are BG'; 'Pop Up Shop'; 'Under the Stars' & 'Giving Pledge'.
Learners spend the equivalent of 5% of the school week on a different project each half term to earn their class badge for eight different themes.
What is the BG EXCELLENCE Charter Class Awards Scheme?
Every one of our BG EXCELLENCE Charter projects is categorised into one of 8 themes, linked to Fundamental British Values.
The themes are: HORIZONS; SUSTAINABILITY; COMMUNICATION; CREATIVITY; BE BRAVE; ENTERPRISE; PERFORMANCE & KINDNESS.
For every project that a class successfully completes, they will be awarded a BG Class Badge for their class sash, displayed outside every classroom, to recognise the collective achievements of the group.
