"A young woman’s relationship with her father has a significant impact on her view of men, her view of God and her view of herself." - Gary Thomas
The Family Lines team is thrilled to dive into the unique waters of the Dad-Daughter relationship with this second series of Mending Lines. Based on the unscripted in-process story-driven formula of Mending Lines ONE, Series TWO will follow three father/daughter pairs on a fly-fishing adventure into the remote village of Stehekin this fall. There they will explore the next layers of God's restoration invitation.
What exactly is Mending Lines?
Since Family Lines' beginning in 2010 we have been driven to create intentional storytelling space for dads and their children (all ages) to experience God's restoration. For our first years we pursued that mission exclusively through fishing trips and workshops. In early 2016 we sensed God nudging us to look beyond our physical reach into the global fatherhood community - to take the campfire moments to the masses.
So in fall 2016 we took up the challenge and gathered a brave group of fathers and sons to head to the Grande Ronde River. We filmed what would become a video study for small groups of dads called MENDING LINES. The study focused around one central question:
What is one area of unfinished healing in my family line that God is inviting me to engage?
We officially released Mending Lines Series ONE (a 6 part video series and a facilitator guide!) on May 17, 2018! In April our series was picked up by RightNow Media which gave us access to an audience of 18,000 churches & 2.5 million individual subscribers worldwide.
Mending Lines went live on RightNow Media in July 2018 and as of February 2019 we're approaching 100 active facilitators, in over 17 states as well as in Belgium and Canada, and counting! Each facilitator (we call them Dad-vocates) is connecting with other fathers in their sphere of influence. This multiplier is huge and increases weekly. The Mending Lines series will minister to thousands of fathers, well beyond the reach of our Family Lines team. We're stoked!
RightNow Media has also committed to license Mending Lines Series TWO & Series THREE!
