ALL INFORMATION IS PERTAINING TO THE MANAGEMENT OF HALIFAX CITY SOCCER CLUB AT THE BMO SOCCER CENTRE & THE LATEST INFORMATION FOR INDOOR 2021 PROGRAMS.

Due to the cleaning and sanitization process outlined recently by the BMO Soccer Centre we are required to end all sessions 15 minutes early, allowing staff to complete their COVID-19 process.

Therefore, it is paramount you are there on time to start the session as once we begin, facility staff will lock the doors and you will not be able to enter the building as Halifax City staff will be leading the sessions.

The recommendation from the BMO Soccer Centre is to come dressed for soccer with additional warm layers and wait in your car. Five minutes before the start of your session we will start to get players in the building where they are to remove layers quickly to start the session.

All players must have a face mask to enter the building. If you are interested in buying an Halifax City mask ($10), contact mike.whyatt@halifaxcitysoccer.ca

All exits for Field 1, 2 & 3 will now vacate out of field 1 exit.

Competition + Extra Fees

Disclaimer: In September, Soccer Nova Scotia and the member clubs agreed to declare teams by the end of November so schedules could be created and final costs established. Unfortunately, this deadline was not honored and has been extended into 2021 with competition being delayed to February and the season extended into April .

The following information is to help guide how our indoor programs will operate as we could face a variety of scenarios.

If Training is Prohibited in January 2021

The training and season will be extended into April with the intention to run a season of either ten games or five jamborees. Simply put everything moves down the calendar. This would result in the additional fees staying as they were in a previous communication.

  • Skill Centre Competition Fee $60.00
  • U12-U17 Competition Fee $75.00
  • U18 Competition Fee $75.00

If Training is Allowed in January 2021

This is where the original deadline being extended will cause our club issues. Not only will the season be extended into April so will the expectation for us to take our field allocation to align with the season including the month of January.

In addition, we are also being asked to book hours on the weekend originally allocated for the league, due to it being delayed and starting in February. This was not forecasted and the overall budget has been significantly impacted by these new timelines and requests.

This would result in our season extending from twelve weeks to fifteen weeks and include three extra weekend sessions during January resulting in six extra turf sessions.

Due to these constraints, we have slightly adjusted the costs to ensure we do not create a deficit in an already difficult time. Our priority is to make additional costs as valuable as possible.

The following breaks down the proposed cost including the competition fees listed above:

  • Skill Centre including competition fees and six extra sessions $85.00.
  • U12-U17 including competition fees and six extra sessions $100.00.
  • U18 including competition fees and six extra sessions $100.00.

What You Receive!

  • 15 midweek turf sessions
  • 3 January weekend turf sessions,
  • 7 school gym futsal sessions (U8-U18)
  • 10 games OR 5 jamboree events (10 games)
  • 4 online presentations (U12-U18 only)

Collecting Payment: We will not be requesting these fees until all details are finalized.

Note - If you do not want to participate in competition OR the extra training OR both. Please contact the club so we can make a note on your file.

Strength & Conditioning Sessions (Optional)

The club has arranged virtual strength and conditioning sessions with our partners Saint Mary's University to host online sessions on Tuesdays at 7:30pm. There will be separate male and females classes.

The opportunities are optional and interested parties U13-U18 must register online here

Each registration will receive 15 sessions for $50.00 starting January 19th.

PARENT ENGAGEMENT

Each family is required to complete the 'Indoor 2021 Parent Engagement' Module prior to the start of the season.

This will replace the need for the traditional parents meeting that occurs at the beginning of the season. This approach results in you being able to get the information you need at a more accessible, time friendly manner.
