Leadgate Bowls Club

The Leadgate bowls club has its pavilion and green on Eden Field. Bowls was a popular pastime across the North East and Leadgate Bowls Club was popular throughout the 20th Century.

Crown Green Bowling attracted men and women. this photograph is of the Consett Park B C ladies winning the National 4s in 2002 beating Cornwall in the final.

This team which included Margaret Robson who later moved to Leadgate B C went on to represent Team GB in Ballymena N Ireland in 2003.
