To help our schools fill absences and operate at a high level, Mt. Vernon has increased the substitute teacher pay to $105/day and $14/hr for substitute instructional assistants. AND, substitutes will receive a free lunch! To substitute for Pre-K-8th grade, a high school diploma is required. Substitutes for grades 9-12 must be at least 21 years old and have a high school diploma.
