Bedford Falls Book Fair

Our Bedford Falls book fair will take place April 22nd - April 26th. The fair will be open from 7:45 AM until 3:15 PM daily. You can also shop the fair during Books and Blankets from 5 - 7 PM.

Bedford Falls is a family-owned company operating out of Raleigh, NC. They have an excellent selection of books, so be sure to stock up for summer reading!

Join us for Family Literacy Night!

Books & Blankets

Woodruff Elementary will host its second annual family literacy night, Books and Blankets, on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 from 5 to 7 PM. Parents/guardians are encouraged to attend this event with their students. Come view student work, get literacy tips, hear read alouds from your favorite teachers, participate in literacy activities as a family, shop the book fair, and enter to win raffle prizes. Bring a blanket and have dinner from one of our visiting food trucks. It's sure to be an awesome night!

Author Visit

Barbara O'Connor will be speaking to WES students on Friday, April 26th. Barbara O’Connor is the author of award-winning novels for children, including Wish, Wonderland, and How to Steal a Dog. Drawing on her South Carolina roots, Barbara's books are known for their strong Southern settings and quirky characters.

In addition to six Parents Choice Awards, Barbara's distinctions include School Library Journal Best Books, Kirkus Best Books, Bank Street College Best Books, and ALA Notables. She has had books nominated for children's choice awards in 38 states. Barbara is a popular visiting author at schools and a frequent speaker at conferences around the country.
