Location

Walt Disney World is located near Orlando, Florida. In the summer the temperature gets to the eighty's and the ninety's. In January the high is 71 degrees Fahrenheit and the low is 50 degrees Fahrenheit. The average precipitation in January is 2.76 inches.

History

In 1965, Disney's company purchased 27,443 acres of land. The first structure built was an underground tunnel. The first part of construction began in April 1969 and lasted for many years. Construction on the actual grounds of Disney began in 1970. October 1979 construction began on phase two, and on Epcot center. In 1986, construction began on the third phase of the park. Disney World opened on October 25, 1971. Disney World is forty-five years old. The Epcot center opened on October 1, 1982. Disney MGM studios opened in 1989. MGM studios is a production studio for active film, TV production, and animations.

Rides

The top five rides at Disney World are Expedition Everest, Tower of Terror, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Space Mountain. Expedition Everest is a roller coaster . You go to the top and when you get to the top you get chased by yeti. The Tower of Terror is an elevator that drops down then rises up very fast. Splash Mountain follows the characters from the Disney movie ''Song of the South''. You are in a log shaped seat and fly down a five-story waterfall. By the end of the ride you will be drenched. The ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is full of twist and turns , and goes indoors and outdoors. Space Mountain is in a dark enclosed building. It is also the oldest roller coaster in Florida.

Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek gets high marks for it's helpful staff. Nickelodeon Family Suites Resort is a popular hotel for families. Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress is a resort with lots of entertaining things like some arcade rooms and a couple of gift shops.

Theme park profits

In 2013 all of the Disney parks around the world made 45 billion dollars. Disneyland is Paris made 85.7 million dollars in 2013. Some of the other parks that helped Disney make the money are Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, and Disney Springs.
