Welcome to Reception, our topic this half term is Run, run as fast as you can.
We will continue to focus on mental health and well being and confidence building, as well as key skills in reading, phonics, maths and writing. Also, continuing to follow the Golden rules and remembering how to wash our hands properly.

I will explore the work of Gustav Klimt – Tree of life
I will become confident in creating colour patterns and colour mixing.
I will explore and create through copycat rhythm games and listen to high and low pitch sounds.
I will introduce and listen to nursery rhymes and add in actions when performing.
I will listen to the artists Pharrell Williams, Peggy Lee and Stevie Wonder.
The Healthy Me
I will negotiate space and travel in different ways.
Our PE day is Thursday, I can wear my PE kit to school and joggers if it is cold.
During Religious Education, I will think about the question do all people believe the same?
I will continue to explore rights and responsibilities in class and the wider world.
I will think about the wider world as we celebrate the Harvest Festival.
I will continue to explore the Jigsaw program to support my mental health and well-being.
I will join in with regular circle time activities where I will voice my ideas and listen to others.
As part of a group I will participate in the NHS 10-minute program to support my mental health and well-being.
The Independent Me
I will create my own drawings to represent the core text and orally retell it.
I will label my drawings with marks appropriate to my development stage and using the sounds I have been taught.
You can support your child at home by sharing books with them and recording their achievements in their planner. Try to watch the phonics videos our teachers have produced which are available on our Twitter page and the federation Website. Look out for Twitter updates on how to use your planner to support your child's learning at home.

I will explore numbers and place values to 5.
I will explore addition and subtraction by sorting objects within 5.

I will use a five frame to organise my play.
In our outside area I will begin to plant winter vegetables and flowers.
