Life @Parky March 2020

The Five "R"s...

In the lead-up to Easter, our sermons this month will focus on the five 'R's. These R words help define our goals as a church that is looking to God and doing its best to further His kingdom in our local area.

You've probably heard them before but just in case, here's a recap...

A RELIANT Community

...to go deeper in God to go wider in spiritual impact.

A RESTORATIVE community

...bringing blessing & help to people in need.

A REDEMPTIVE community

...helping people find faith in Jesus.

A RESOURCING & RELEASING community

...multiplying kingdom ministry.

Bushfire Appeal Update

Bateman’s Bay, and Corryong are names of towns that probably resonate in your memory of the recent fires on the east coast of Australia. Located on the coast of NSW and Victoria, they were in the epicentre of the fire zones. Resulting from the generosity of so many people in this church, we have been able to donate so far, $4500 of the $7000 raised to churches in these two towns. This money is being used for immediate assistance to individuals who have lost homes or businesses. Vouchers have been funded for use at local businesses and supermarkets. Around Corryong, many farming families have lost much of their stock or infrastructure such as fencing and water points, as well as houses and sheds and machinery. Fuel vouchers were provided for people without power who needed to run generators. And so many other needs!

The churches have expressed their deep thankfulness for our solidarity with them. Also, Milton Ulladulla Baptist Church thanked us for our offer of support but were most of all interested in the various ways we had responded to our community in the aftermath of the 2014 fires here. So God uses our difficult experiences to grow us and to bless others. We will continue to expend the remaining funds over the next weeks and will report back as we hear more.

Prayer & Fasting Week

16-22 March

During the week of Monday 16 March - Sunday 22 March we are encouraging a Church-wide week of Prayer & Fasting to seek God for His kingdom and His will to be done in and through the life of our Church.

As a Community, Nation and a Church we have many needs, ministries and programs off the ground for 2020 and we desire to bring it all before God and submit ourselves to Him.

Maybe you have a specific prayer need that you are wanting to bring before the Lord at this time. Whether you choose fast from food partially or a form of technology, it’s simply all about disconnecting from our normal patterns & pleasures to connect with God in this biblical way of prayer & fasting. To hear more about biblical fasting you can listen to our January Podcast on Prayer & Fasting here http://sermons.parkerville.net.au/?sermon_id=352

Over the week you can also engage with us in the following:

  • Morning Prayer: The church will be open from 6.30am-7.30am each week day from 16th – 20th March for Prayer. Feel free to come and spend time praying with us.
  • Hour of Power Prayer Night: On Friday 20 March, join us for an evening of prayer from 7-8pm at the Church.
  • Bring & Share Brunch: We are concluding the week of Prayer and Fasting with a Bring & Share Brunch on Sunday 22 March after the service.

We look forward to seeking God together!

Matt 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Psalm 37:4 Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
