In an increasingly connected world, where innovation and disruption comes out of collaboration; the value of a network is essential.
This is especially true in an industry that underpins modern life. That provides materials to power a green future. That helps to bring a positive contribution to society. That enables humans to discover new frontiers, and keeps the world connected.
Here’s your opportunity to explore the world. To start the conversations. To learn from the legends. To get involved and be empowered to make the changes in our industry. We are the future of mining.
Young Mining Professionals exists to provide the new generation of leaders with the skills, the networks, and the opportunities they need to succeed.
Already established in the UK and Canada we’re keen to kick-off chapters in all of Australia’s mining hubs – Perth, Brisbane, and Melbourne to become a truly global network.
We are unique in that we are run by young professionals who understand the needs of their peers.
We host distinguished speaker dinners, mine tours, and networking events.
We share career opportunities, provide scholarships, and host an annual awards ceremony.
Let us not forget. Mining is more than engineers; it is more than geologists; it is more than environmental scientists…
It’s the deal doers, the advisers, the brokers, the accountants…
It’s the coders, the communicators, the lawyers, the human resource specialists…
It’s the entrepreneurs, the technologists, the robotics guru, the event organisers…
It’s the explorers, developers, and the producers…
It’s the HQ’s, the mine sites, the contractors, the consultants…
It’s the investors, the juniors, the mid-tiers, the majors…
It’s everyone who enables mining to thrive
We primarily support those under-40 years of age, however there are no hard and fast rules. If you are the future of mining, you are welcome.
Want to get involved?
Do you have what it takes to help to run a new chapter of YMP and become a champion?
You are invited to submit a 1-page pitch containing three-sections.
1. Who - who are you? What attracted you to the mining industry? What do you do?
2. What – Here’s where you outline an event idea; be as creative as you like; talk about who you will get involved, and what benefits YMPs are likely to receive
3. Why – Talk here about why you want to be involved, what you feel you can bring to YMP, and how you can make the chapter a success.
Upload your submission here by 15th December 2018
