Nominate Your Favorite CCS Music Teachers

March is Music in Our Schools Month and what better way to celebrate than by honoring the people who help bring music into your children's lives? Nominate your favorite CCS music teachers for one of the following awards:

  • Philadelphia Youth Orchestra Ovation Award
  • Grammy Music Educator Award

The Philadelphia Youth Orchestra Ovation Award honors an outstanding music teacher in the Delaware Valley Region who - while imparting musical knowledge - builds character, self-confidence, and capabilities that position students for success in every aspect of their lives. The Ovation Award highlights the significance of music education and applauds the positive impact of music teachers on the greater community. Nominate your favorite CCS music teachers for the Ovation Award by accessing the link below.

The deadline to nominate CCS music teachers for this award is Friday, March 31, 2017.

For every performer who makes it to the GRAMMY stage, there was a teacher who played a critical role in getting them there, and that's the reason for the GRAMMY Music Educator Award. Maybe your music teacher introduced you to your first instrument or they showed you how to get over your stage fright. Perhaps they just inspired you to have the confidence to go for it when you were ready to give up. It's time to say "Thank You" to the teachers who put in those hours and made us see the many benefits of music in our lives. Nominate your favorite CCS music teachers for the GRAMMY Music Educator Award by accessing the link below.

The deadline to nominate CCS music teachers for this award is Wednesday, March 15, 2017.

National School Breakfast Week

This week is National School Breakfast Week and to celebrate, our Food Service Director, Mr. Ely, created a video series highlighting the importance of eating breakfast. Each morning during the week of March 6th, our CCS mascot - Carl the Cougar - will post a new video on our Facebook page featuring Mr. Ely and one of our students discussing breakfast food options.

Did you know that children who eat school breakfast are more likely to reach higher levels of achievement and are more likely to be alert and more focused in the classroom? School breakfast is also associated with better school attendance and even higher grades!

K-12 breakfast at Collegium is just $2.00. If you are approved for the Free & Reduced Program, we have you covered for breakfast, too! Questions about breakfast options? Please email Mr. Ely.
