Raising Your Voice the female narrative

An event was held Thursday, Feb. 23 at Sheridan College, in Oakville hosted from 6:30-9:30 in room S235. The event, titled "Raising Your Voice: The Female Narrative" was hosted by Sheridan students Eve Krogman and Erica Giunta featured a panel of four notable female filmmakers, whom were also faculty at Sheridan. The four women were Maureen Judge, Aisha Jamal, Kathleen Cummins, and Tracy German who spoke about their challenges entering and working in the filmmaking industry as women. Snippets of their work was shown and the rest of the event consisted of a Q&A panel.

Aisha Jamal had this to say about her experiences with prejudice in the filmmaking industry and how negative influences fuel her passion and keep her strong:
