This week’s stars are:
Dates for the Diary
This term is an extremely busy one, so please make a note of all the events listed below.
Collection of Reception/Year 1 Children
There have been a few episodes this week whereby an adult has come to school to collect a child in Reception or Year 1 and that person is unknown to staff or hasn’t been placed on the authorised to collect list. Even if it is a relative we cannot release children to somebody who is not on this list. Please ensure your details are up to date. Thank you.
Election of Parent Governors
Can you help to support and further develop our school? Can you give up a couple of hours every half term?
By the end of January 2020 there will be two vacancies for Parent Governors on the School’s Governing Body. Parent Governors are elected by the parents/guardians of pupils at the school to serve a four year term of office and it is necessary to hold an election. You may, if you wish, put yourself forward as a candidate.
Further information will be sent to you next week. The timetable for the election will be as follows:
- Nomination form to be returned to the school by 9.00 on Friday 22 November 2019.
- Details of how to vote will be sent to all parents on Tuesday 26 November, together with the summaries submitted by each candidate (voting will only take place if there are more than two candidates)
- The voting will end at 12.00 noon on Tuesday 3 December 2019, after which the result will be announced.
Governors have an important and influential role to play in the life of our school and I hope that you will be able to take part in this election by becoming a candidate and by casting your vote when the time comes. You can make a difference.
Iain Schofield, Chair of Governing Body

Next week is national Maths week and as such we will be giving over our usual timetable to host a range of Maths activities. We will also have ‘The Problem Solving Company’ in school to conduct Maths workshops with each class. In order to help us fund this we are asking for a £1 donation from each family in school. Helping us to fund outside agencies like this means that throughout the curriculum we can get more exciting activities and visitors in to school. Thank you for your support.
After School Club
It is pleasing to be able to share with you that we have made two new staffing appointments lately to our After School Club. Miss Riley, who many users of the Club will already know, has been appointed to the role of Manager and will take up her post during December and Mrs Taylor started as our Deputy Manager after the half term break. If you need to contact the After School Club the email address is firstname.lastname@example.org and the phone number is 0755 224 7941.

Please note if you are returning your order to school (with appropriate payment) this needs to be sent in by Thursday 14 November. Any orders after this date will have to be placed online.
The newly formed team performed amazingly well last night showing great team work and fabulous football skills. Improvement was evident game on game as they just missed out in the first match, drew the second but won the third. Well done and thanks to Mr Clegg and Mrs Mears.
Thank you to Mr Bulcock and Mrs Loftus for accompanying children to St Bede’s yesterday for the Boccia competition. The children had a thoroughly good day and did well.
