I have owned Younique Physique, my Fitness Studio, for almost 15 years and been in the Fitness Industry for 20 years. The name Younique Physique was chosen with the idea that we are all different and unique in what are needs, goals and how our bodies respond so everyone needs to be looked at individually and figure out what works for the person and their lifestyle. Fitness to me is being balanced and healthy in all areas of life. For example: If you have balance in your exercise and training program you are an overall athlete and less likely to get injured, if you eat healthy and take care of your body you are generally healthier overall, if you are emotionally and spiritually fit you have or deal with life and stress better and have a healthier self esteem. All of these things play off each other and help your overall Fitness. So I train and coach each person according to their needs. If I am training a group I try to give a balanced overall workout so that my clients getting strength, conditioning and plenty of core training so they can correct imbalances and are not creating them.
I have always been an athlete and dancer and I fell in love with fitness in college when I did an internship a medically based fitness center. I wanted to have a career where I could help people and stay active. Now, almost 20 years later I am still in love with fitness and know that I am truly living out my life's purpose. I am a born competitor and extremely driven so I continue to set goals and compete to not only keep myself growing as a person but to inspire others to aspire to greatness and seek out their full potential whether it be in fitness, a career or personal growth. My highest honors were being crowned the first Ms. Fit American Beauty at the National American Beauty Pageant held in San Antonio, Texas November 2014. I have been published in several features and written articles for local magazines. Most recently I placed 7th at WBFF Worlds in Diva Bikini Model +35. I plan on continuing to compete, set challenging goals and reaching for greatness so that I can help inspire others that anything is possible. I want people to know that I am just like anyone else and if they are struggling they can make the choices just as I did; to overcome my past, not settle for being average, and committed myself to be the best me I could be physically, spiritually and personally.
My mission is to Educate, Motivate and inspire others to seek out greatness and be the best they can be. My passion is helping others feel better about themselves by encouraging others, fitness, nutrition & wellness education and inspiring by living by example. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology and hold numerous Personal Training, Nutrition & Group Fitness Certifications.
Along with my career passion for fitness and nutrition, I have done a lot of trainings and research in holistic and homeopathic medicine and healing the body. Activities I enjoy are dancing (especially country), hiking, and being outdoors, as well as creating healthy recipes and foods that are healthy and gluten & dairy free. I love movies, live theatre, music, acting, singing, dancing and choreography, as well as basketball and the San Antonio Spurs. Although I don’t travel much I enjoy traveling when the opportunity presents itself. I also enjoy fashion, shopping, and creating my own style. Competing In Fitness and Bikini and continually challenging myself is an important part of my growth journey to become the best “me” I can be. I feel strongly that I must be able to stay inspired, inspire myself in order to inspire others.
