Congratulations on your admission to UIS! We want to make your transition to UIS easy. Use this checklist to guide your next steps.
Return all forms by their required deadlines and, if you have any questions, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 1-888-977-4847.
In addition to this checklist, your admissions packet (mailed to you) should contain:
- Admission letter (retain for your records)
Accept our offer
Complete the Intent to Enroll form online via your application status page.
- Complete intent to enroll form by May 1 for Summer & Fall, or December 1 for Spring.
Get your UIS Account
No later than three days after admission, you will receive an email with your 6-digit code (activation token) and a link to the UIS Account/Register Your Identity web page. Here you will obtain your UIS NetID and set your password. Your NetID is your electronic identity used to access all UIS systems. Remember your NetID and password to access all your UIS accounts including billing, registration, degree audits, online learning systems, email, and countless others.
Include the UIS code 009333 on your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which you can complete at fafsa.gov as soon as possible after October 1. Students and parents will create a Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID when submitting the FAFSA online.
UIS awards merit scholarships automatically as part of the admissions process and notifies eligible students of any such award in their admission letters.
Apply for Additional Scholarships
Visit go.uis.edu/fa to learn more about opportunities for students interested in nursing or those who are military-connected, among many others. In addition, UIS offers an additional 340 institutional scholarships worth more than $575,000.
Financial Aid Award Letter
View at https://apps.uillinois.edu/selfservice using your new UIS Account (NetID and password). Click on UIS, log in, select the Financial Aid tab, and click on Award Letter.
If you have credits you will be transferring, establish a transferology account and see how they will transfer to UIS.
