What is your current position, place of work, and daily duties?
Transportation Planner at Mott MacDonald in Los Angeles – I get to work on various rail transit planning studies throughout Central and Southern California by planning rail corridors and stations, meeting with stakeholders, and creating maps and visual aids.
What did you gain from your time in the MURP program and how did it help get you where you are now?
Aside from the amazing people I met in the program, the classes we took helped me gain a broad overview of the planning field. Even though my current work focuses on transit planning, I draw from the knowledge I’ve gained in areas of affordable housing and economic development during my time at UCI.
Why did you choose the MURP program at UCI?
The location, professional network of alumni and professors, and reputation of the university
What were some of your favorite classes and why?
ArcGIS, Practicum, and the Community and Economic Development Law Clinic with Professor Solomon and Professor Hempel were some of my favorites. The law clinic was a game changer because it was extremely hands on and I got to work with clients in our community to solve a variety of land use related issues.
