Here, it's just such a different experience... it's so much more than just coming to class every day."

"A common theme throughout school and our classes and the community," says Kiki, "is curiosity. It's really supported here because there are so many opportunities."

A member of the swim team and passionate about community service, Kiki is also inspired by the Academy's visual arts program, where students can focus on drawing and painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography, and video.

The Academy believes that art is an intellectual process as well as a creative process and that the skills of art making are teachable to anyone. Every student can be successful when taught the language and skills.

"It's just such a cool experience to get to see your own artwork in the art shows and see these amazing works from AP art on the walls," says Kiki.
