When the dinosaurs died their bodies began a process which eventually let pieces of them (mainly bones) get fossilized.Fossils are records of life preserved in stone.Dinosaur fossils not only tell us about that specific dinosaur and its species, but life in general while they still roamed the Earth.

Dinosaur fossils can be found in every continent of the Earth, in fact thousands of bones have already been discovered and thousands of dinosaurs and there species have been identified sand named.

In fact the dinosaur bones to be discovered was in England during the nineteenth century. The first dinosaur to be described and named was the Megalosaurus, meaning great lizard.

Bones shells and other hard parts of the animal were usually the parts that got fossilized, while skin organs and muscle tissue decayed and were rarely ever preserved.
