MARCH 15 - 18, 2019

BRIEF: The 2019 HKS Southeast Design Fellowship will explore community issues at MARTA transit stations in Atlanta, Georgia where soccer could become a medium for social change. The SEDF will be partnering with the City of Atlanta Department of City Planning’s Atlanta City Studio and Soccer in the Streets to develop a design for Soccer in the Streets’ StationSoccer initiative.

CHALLENGE: What does soccer as a means of youth opportunity and a community branded lifestyle designed around public transit look like? Entrants will be placed in teams that mix professionals and students who are tasked to design for young Atlantans. Proposals should identify durable, functional and serviceable concepts for Soccer in the Streets' StationSoccer initiative at the site of a MARTA rail station.
