The Best of What Canada Has to Offer. By: Yuvreet gill

Multiculturalism is the co-existence of diverse cultures, where culture includes racial, religious, or cultural groups and is manifested in customary behaviours, cultural assumptions and values, patterns of thinking, and communicative styles(Boateng). In 1971, Canada was the first country in the world to adopt multiculturalism as an official policy. Today, multiculturalism in Canada is fundamental to our belief that all citizens are equal. Multiculturalism ensures that all citizens can keep their identities, can take pride in their ancestry and have a sense of belonging. Acceptance gives Canadians a feelings of security and self-confidence, making them more open to , and accepting of diverse cultures. Through multiculturalism, Canada recognizes the potential of all Canadians, encouraging them to integrate into their society and take an active part in its social, culture, economic, and political affairs. This allows our Canadian communities to be more open and social and interesting in the way they interact ("Canadian Multiculturalism: An Inclusive Citizenship").

From my perspective, multiculturalism makes the true colors of Canada show and embraces the beauty of our diverse Canadian communities. By interacting with Canadians who speak multiple languages and understand many cultures, makes it easier and more reliable to participate in international levels and areas of education, trade, news and etc. Therefor all Canadians should value multiculturalism, due to it's phenomenon impact on our society and on our everyday lives.

Free Health Care

Back in the 18th century, Canada only had hospitals which took care of the poor. It was in 20th century the government started to know about public health system. In 1984, the Liberal government established Canada Health Act, which now guides the Canadian healthcare network (Post). Canada's health care system is a group of socialized health insurance plans that provides coverage to all Canadian citizens. It is publicly funded and administered on a provincial or territorial basis, within guidelines set by the federal government. Under the health care system, individual citizens are provided preventative care and medical treatments from primary care physicians as well as access to hospitals, dental surgery and additional medical services. In fact, Canada does boast one of the highest life expectancies (about 80 years) and lowest infant morality rates of industrialized countries, which many attribute to Canada's health care system("Canadian Health Care").

By providing Canadian citizens and residents with free health care, it supports our Canadian communities with a positive future. Free health care allows Canadians, just like me to believe for the best in Canada. It allows us to support these systems in the future as well for our family, friends and more importantly our community.

Northern Lights

The bright dancing lights of the aurora are actually collisions between electrically charged particles from the sun that enter the earth's atmosphere. The lights are seen above the magnetic poles of the northern and southern hemisphere. You can view the northern lights from early April to late August. The aurora oval covers the majority of the country, including the provinces of Yukon, Northern Saskatchewan, Northwest Territories, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia and British Columbia. The aurora borealis, or "northern lights" is a phenomenon that draws travelers from around the world to the rugged wilderness of Canada. The Great White North is one of the best places in the world to admire Mother Nature's light show, sending vibrant purples, greens, reds and yellows slithering into the country's dark skies (McCready).

Viewing one of the most famous and significant natural beauties of Canada, makes many Canadians want to explore more of our extraordinary Canada. In the 21st century, many Canadians have been connected to technology, raising awareness about our most amusing parts in Canada, allows them to get out, explore and travel. This also brings many immigrants to Canada as an attraction and allows for more job opportunities and helps Canada become a more sharing, friendly and diverse country .Us, Canadians should value these type of natural phenomenon and celebrate together the beauty of our country, by gathering together in the north and watching the northern lights.
