In Maine the month of April can bring vicious nor’easters, daffodils and… docks. Those first fleeting warm days bring thoughts of summer that all optimists and islanders latch onto as a good ‘nuff reason to get the motorcycle out of the garage or the boat out of the barn. Might as well get the docks rigged up for the summah too. And that is what we did with the help of Manny at Atlantic Mooring Service on a sunny morning, which became a rainy, sleety, early April afternoon. Thankfully the wind was out of the east which placed us in the lee of the island to wrestle the 14 floats together in relative peace.
