The beach house offers the great summer experience By: Camryn ragland

Walking into The Beach House, I was met with welcoming staff and lively atmosphere. Located across from the Norwalk River in South Norwalk, The Beach House offers beautiful summer themed ocean decor that immediately draws you in.

The menu provides a wide array of options including flatbread pizzas, salads, and fish entrees. I decided to star with the roasted brussel sprouts as a start, and the spicy fish tacos with a side of sweet potato fries for my entree.

The brussels sprouts were average at best. They claim to be roasted but mine were barely cooked. They were soft and crunchy which is not what I expected. Although the texture was off, they were topped with bits of bacon and a balsamic glaze which added flavor to make up for the texture.

After a quick 10 minutes wait, I was brought my fish tacos. The spicy fish was cooked perfectly and paired well with the jalapeƱo old pay slaw that they were topped with. I was given french fries at first and had to send the plate back to get the sweet potato fries that I ordered. Other than that minor complication, the tacos were great and the flavor combination paired very well together.

The Spicy Fish Taco Entree

The best part of the meal by far was the sweet potato fries. They were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. perfectly with a touch of sea salt.

Overall I enjoyed my experience at The Beach House and would like to explore further the many different options on the menu.
