Buzzed Bull Creamery Grand opening Tuesday

The first creamery in Over-the-Rhine to serve alcohol-infused "buzzed" ice cream, opened its doors at noon Tuesday.
Buzzed Bull is located at 1408 Main St., right next to the Woodward Theater.
Husband and wife Colten and Kaitlyn Mounce first came up with the idea for Buzzed Bull while living in Florida. They moved back to Cincinnati and recruited Colten's brother and sister-in-law Shane and Katherine Mounce to open the creamery, along with mother Cathy and family friends Keith and Amber Ayers.
“It’s been a three-year odyssey to get to this point,” said creamery co-owner Shane Mounce. “Our Sundays have been spent experimenting in someone’s kitchen.”
The creamery has about 30 suggested ice cream or frozen yogurt items on the menu. Those items include the Redleg, made with strawberries, graham crackers, Red Bull and vodka.
Customers can select up to 20 mix-ins, such as graham crackers and pecans, with the purchase of any flavor. People pick those mix-ins and alcohol while walking along a counter set-up similar to Chipotle's. The final step of any order involves mixing ingredients with a cream or yogurt, which is then flash frozen with liquid nitrogen into ice cream in front of the customer.
For "buzzed" ice cream orders, size determines the amount of liquor added to the frozen dessert. A small ice cream includes a single shot, a medium includes a shot-and-a-half and a large comes with two shots. Each order of alcoholic ice cream contains about 5 percent alcohol by volume, which is about the same as an IPA beer or wine cooler.

Buzzed Bull's regular hours of operation after its grand opening will be noon-11 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 11 a.m.-1:30 a.m. Friday-Saturday; and 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Sunday.
