Mr. Kolbe's class shares their Thanksgiving message with everyone!

I would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!!! There are so many areas of my life that I am thankful for and feel blessed to be a part of every day. I am extremely thankful to be a part of the Wass community. I'm thankful for the students, parents, secretaries, custodians, support staff, and teachers. Everyone does their part to make this community and school what it is together. From the bottom of my heart, "Thank you!"

This edition of the Wolf's Howl is short and to the point with a single message - Thanksgiving! I can't think of another service opportunity that allows our students, parents, and staff to display empathy and a heart of thanksgiving more than our Wass Holiday Drive.

This year, we have four families that we are helping to make their holiday season brighter. These families are going through a season of life that has brought one or more challenges into their path. Some of these challenges are significant - health, job loss, housing, or unforeseen circumstances that have made finance a challenge and in some cases, very stressful to get by day to day (not just paycheck to paycheck). I would encourage you to consider adding the Wass Holiday Drive to your holiday gift list this year. I can promise you that your "Intentional Act of Kindness" will bless a Wass family this holiday season.

For many people in society, the meaning of Thanksgiving usually includes feasting, four-day weekends, football games, floats, family reunions, or a forerunner to holiday festivities. The actual definition of Thanksgiving to it's core is gratitude. Please take time over the Thanksgiving Break to discuss what you are thankful for with your child(ren). Don't forget to let them share what they are thankful for as well.

As a community, I'm asking you to consider participating at some level in our Holiday Drive so WE can lift four families' spirits. WE all know an undesirable season or challenging chapter of life is always potentially around the corner. Together, the Wass Wolf Pack can share the Wass Wolves' Way with others. As adults, let's model giving, a heart of Thanksgiving, and showing love to others.

Enjoy and savor Thanksgiving Day with your children as you teach and model your family values and traditions.

From the Jansen Family to yours, we wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving!
