Sigmund Freud The Father of Psychology

A Taste of Freud

Sigmund Freud is associated with being the Father of Psychology. Born into a religious Jewish family, Freud was raised heavily around religious values. After his years at University of Vienna, he set up his clinical practice in Vienna.

"Being entirely honest with oneself is a good exercise. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. We are never so defenseless against suffering as when we love."

So What's the big deal with him anyways?

Freud was actually one the pioneers of clinical psychology that we know today. His input on psychology has helped shaped the things we look at today and his contributions and discoveries are things that we still use today. Freud was one the most influential people of his time, although some of his theories we seen as taboo, yet still to this day we use many of his works to help shape new theories and we add on to his discoveries.
