Project: Global DMP best practices & CHALLENGES in a Nutshell

General Workflow

  • Contract signed / DMP kickoff
  • Consulting hand over
  • Kick off call / roles & responsibilies
  • Definition of a Project Plan
  • Workshop
  • Ongoing support

Best practice

  • Make sure that you get involed as early as possible into the conversations between CSMs, Consulting, Agency & Client.
  • Check if you see any incoming issues that could land on your table
  • Make sure that things get documented on a sharepoint or similar place
  • Try to get into alignment with all solutions

  • Global coordination between client / agency & project management
  • Differnent knowledge on client / agency side per country
  • Different workflows per country
  • Sometimes project involves several solutions and a MSA is often missing - P5 migration

Team Setup

  • Account Executive
  • Manager Global Account Management
  • Global Customer Success Manager
  • Region / Local Customer Success Manager
  • Engagement Manager
  • Region / Local Account Managers
  • Global / region / local Consultants

  • Global Operations Manager
  • Account Managers
  • Interns

  • Data Analysts
  • Digital Business Partners
  • Online Marketing Managers

Best practice

  • Check internally how your colleagues service the client | every market should have the same service level
  • Try to set up a market specific workshop - you will notice that the knowledge is totally different between each market
  • Make sure that you have enough consuling hours in place, otherwise your projects may get stuck. We suggest to plan your hours "generous"
  • Workflow: Update PP - Internal call / global weekly call / workshops globally

  • Different knowledge / workflows between the markets & participants
  • Different quality for some tasks
  • No consulting hours available! *classic*

The Project Plan

  • Overview of the scheduled acivities & to do's
  • Responsible: You!
  • Creator? Depends... either you or Consulting
Project Plan example

Best practice

  • Make sure that you discuss / approve the Project Plan with your Manager / Consultant / Project Manager & Client
  • Do weekly calls and update each party on a regular base
  • Involve your Manager in an early stage if you see that something doesn't work as intended
  • Assign owners and timelines to each party

  • Each Project Plan looks different - gather all expetations before your start working on something
  • Timelines: Some items will high likely get stuck and you will need to justify this.
