What a Dog Bowser's first semester as an anz foster dog

Taken by Alex Karbowicz

Junior at Carroll College- Anthrozoology Major

These are snapshots of Bowser's first semester as a foster dog. I am cofostering him with Alexa Doerr (seen in photograph 4 with Bowser) He was from Lewis & Clark Humane Society, and we are training him to adopt him out to a new home in the Helena community at the end of the school year. The first photo was taken in the first few weeks we had him, and you can see he is extremely skinny but already getting comfortable in front of the camera.

Photograph 2 was taken during the beautiful fall we had at Carroll this year. The leaves were everywhere and contrasted with Bowser's coat color and I had to capture it.

Photo 3 was taken at the new Perkins Call Canine Center, which has been a godsend during my time with Bowser. He can play fetch (his favorite activity), do training, and just have fun there.

The fourth picture is of Alexa and Bowser outside the new Canine Center and Simperman Hall. He is between her legs in his favorite "horse" position, which has become a place of fun and safety for him.

The final photo was taken in the Trinity lounge. I felt that getting a picture of the lounge being turned into a classroom was really crucial to capturing part of the strangeness of this COVID semester.
