UK TOUR 2021 Durham-west yorkshire

After eighteen months of disruption to choir life, we were fortunate enough to be able to bring this academic year to a close on a high. The three evensongs, two masses and two recitals enabled us to perform much of our favourite repertoire, and the times between rehearsal and performances gave us the opportunity to catch up with one another properly, after such an extended period of separation.

We began our tour as visiting choir to Durham Cathdral for the weekend, singing Evensong for them each afternoon and Eucharist on Sunday morning.

While in Durham, we rehearsed in the beautiful Tunstall Chapel in University College...

...and experiemented with the acoustics of the Chapter House as we got ready for services.

After our last service, many of us took the opportunity to explore the magnificent architecture a little further.

We managed to find a restaurant that would have us all before we headed off to our next stop the following morning!

Our travel day allowed us to take in the stunning views of Durham one more time...

...before moving onto the Victorian splendor of Bradford.

We gave our first recital of the tour (and the year!) to a full house at the glorious Wakefield Cathedral.

We gave our second recital in Bradford Cathdral, before singing our final Mass in St. Chad's that evening.

We celebrated our leavers on our last night in Bradford, and wish them the best of luck for the future.

Our tour to the North West really was a wonderful way to round off the academic year. We remain hugely grateful to everyone who hosted us along the way and can't wait to welcome our new members and start singing again in October!
