The flu also known as Influenza is a highly contagious respiratory illness caused by the Influenza virus.The influenza virus attacks the body by spreading through the respiratory tract. The flu is most likely to appear in the winter and the best way to prevent the illness is by getting the flu shot. The flu infects the nose, throat, and lungs and causes illness that could lead to death.

Flu symptoms usually come on suddenly, The symptoms of the flu include Severe aches in muscles and joints, pain and tiredness around the eye, a dry cough, sore throat, runny nose,weakness and fatigue,and a headache.

The flu virus spreads by coughs and sneezes, skin to skin contact, saliva, and by touching an contaminated surface.

Patients are usually sick with the flu for 5 to 7 days after becoming sick.

To prevent the flu: avoid contact with people who are sick, stay home when you are sick, cover your mouth and nose, clean your hands, and practice healthy habits.
