  • Wk 2: Generosity Removes Tension - holding a generous attitude removes inner tension
  • Wk 3: Freedom from Jealousy - understanding both how jealousy harms the happiness of both ourselves and others, and the benefits of avoiding this state of mind, we can experience a happy mind which is free to enjoy the success and happiness of the others as if it were our own
  • Wk 4: Judge Less, Love More - with guest teacher, Matt C - eliminating our critical thoughts and feelings towards others allows us to enjoy all our relationships better

“Although we want to be happy all the time we do not know how to do this, and we are always destroying our own happiness by developing anger, negative views and negative intentions”

Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

Excerpt from:

Modern Buddhism: The Path of Compassion and Wisdom

Our "Advice for Life" set of classes aims to help us overcome everyday states of mind which cause us to experience unhappy feelings and problems when we interact with others; replacing them with helpful, positive ways of thinking which bring lasting inner peace

With the help of these teachings and meditations we can improve our compassion and wisdom, enabling us to understand how problems arise and how to overcome the resulting difficulties we experience.

Meditation is an effective way to deal with the negative states of mind that cause us to act out of anger, frustration, jealousy and pride. Through meditation and mindfulness techniques we learn to control our mind, rather than allowing our mind to control us.

Anyone can benefit from a meditation practice and so our classes are for the benefit of everyone. Classes are open to beginners and experienced meditators alike and you will be sure of a very warm welcome into our centre. If you would like to know more about what to expect at a class or about meditation, our website has some very useful information:
