Feature film, Eve Gentry and The Power of Pilates Documentary — Includes archival footage of Joe Pilates teaching Eve Gentry, a New York City dancer with the Hanya Holm Company. In 1955, Eve had a radical mastectomy which removed her pectoral muscle along with her breast. The film documents her sessions with Joseph Pilates as he helped her rehabilitation, she was able to do the more advanced exercises after just one year. This documentary provides an historic look at Eve Gentry and her influence on the Pilates method, as a dancer, Pilates teacher and healer, she developed her own "pre-Pilates" approach, calling it The Gentry Method.
