A Little Background

Each year Generations Christian Church sends teams of people to the Mathare Valley in Kenya to work with the urban poor. Community Health Evangelism (CHE), a proven program that assists the urban poor and brings transformation through available resources, training, a microfinance program, optimism, and faith, is the primary form of assistance.

This summer, I have the opportunity to go with a select number of other volunteers from my church to work with Missions of Hope International, where our child sponsorship program provides education, clothing and adequate nutrition to orphans and children in Mathare, one of the worst slums in Africa. Our team will also be doing CHE work, evangelism and working in a medical clinic.

Partnering Makes It Possible

Would you please partner with us in prayer as we prepare for this trip and our activities and safety as we minister in Africa? Nothing can be accomplished without prayer! It is so important to me to know that I have a team of committed prayer partners here in the U.S. while I am in Africa. I will be able to send updates through Facebook and possibly email while I am away. If you would like an email update, please send me your email and I will add your name to my list.

I Need Your Help

I am also asking you to consider assisting me in raising the necessary funds for this trip. Each team member must raise $3,000 to cover the expenses of the trip and enable us to purchase and bring along medical supplies. Believe me, I struggle to ask for money no matter the cause, but I believe so much in the way these partners work to better the lives and the skills of those in this remote part of the world, that I couldn't imagine not taking this opportunity to go. At first, $3,000 seemed like a large number for me as a whole, but with the help of many of you reading this, I know God will provide!
