This Week at Wheeler: Let's take a look at our Upper School Math program with Teacher Tom Wharton and join us in cheering on 7th Grade student Philip Spradlin as he prepares to head to the National History Bee! A new Graphic Novel details the career of Dr. Joseph Chazan, alumni parent, grandparent, former Trustee, and namesake of the Wheeler Chazan Art Gallery. Hamilton 8th Grade taps into their entrepreneurial spirit with Dean Bragonier and his NoticeAbility Program. And Grs. 1-5, check out the new Food Service price and portion news below!
VIRTUAL LEARNING: You may notice more emails this week about classroom preparations in the EVENT we would need to move a class to virtual learning as happened in two Lower/Hamilton Lower School homerooms. This is preparation only so that we would be able to transition as smoothly as possible in the instance of a need for a class, a grade, or even a division to quarantine. Please help your students understand that this is not something to worry over but a signal of some of the ways Wheeler faculty have incorporated since last spring for what makes the transition to virtual learning work best for students and families.
We value the importance of friendship especially during these unprecedented times, and have you had a chance to meet our new Chef Shana from Brock & Co. Inc? ICYMI: Wheeler Boys Soccer is off to a great start! And the Wheeler Warriors welcome Stephanie Coro as the new Girls Varsity Basketball Coach for the 2020-2021 season.
Have a happy (and most importantly) safe Halloween! Looking for tips for COVID-safe trick-or-treating or activities? Check out this flyer.
