Nene Valley Festival Celebrating the natural and historic assets of this beautiful landscape

Presenting a diverse 9 day programme of events aimed at both residents and visitors to the region.

2015 Nene Valley Festival launch at Stanwick Lakes

The programme has been designed so there is something for everyone to enjoy, whether you are interested in cultural heritage, local history, archaeology, food and drink, the arts or leisure activities.

Encouraging local communities to discover more about the history of the local area.

Support community groups to develop local walks and tourism events.

Developing a sense of place by promoting the special qualities of the Nene Valley and increasing awareness of what the area has to offer visitors.

Encouraging businesses to work together with the ultimate aim of attracting more overnight tourism.

Developing a greater understanding of the geographical area and to create loyalty to the area by residents and visitors.

Building on the reputation of the festival as an annual event of regional and national significance, our event will join up many partners and locations along the Nene Valley corridor, engaging hard to reach audiences with heritage and the environment through art exhibitions, guided walks, cycling events, outdoor family events and digital media etc.

Oundle guided walk

Places and stories of people, local industries and the nationally important wildlife and habitats that are currently hidden here will be unveiled by the people to whom this landscape is most important.
