There are three things you should know about scientists...
First, scientists are naturally curious about how the world works and try to discover these relationships through careful measurement and observation.
Second, scientists let the data decide which hypothesis is best supported, even if it disagrees with previous observations. They know that every conclusion about how things work is subject to revision with the inclusion of new data.
Third, scientists know that even little changes can have global impacts. For example, even a slight rise in sea temperature can forever change the structure of coral reef communities.
So take a moment this Earth Day to thank a scientist for working to make the world a better place. And please support the training of our next generation of scientists.
