Junior David Wolfe Bender is writing about the press conference on the Larry Nassar scandal. Wolfe Bender was a first time participant at High School Journalism Institute in the News Writing section. His favorite thing to have learned in his workshop was "how to write creative headlines."
Wolfe Bender enjoys a large mac n' cheese from Noodle & Co. at the gates of Indiana University. His meal also included a cherry vanilla Dr. Pepper and a chocolate chunk cookie. Kraft, according to Wolfe Bender, is his favorite brand of mac n' cheese because "it's easy to make."
David Wolfe Bender is twirling his earphones while in his morning workshop class. He was listening to music most of the time he was working on his writing. His usual music was "a lot of pop and a lot of Taylor Swift, like an unhealthy amount."
Wolfe Bender and his roommate Ramon are playing a card game in Spruce lobby. They had just met this week during HSJI at IU. His favorite card game is Gin because " it's been in my family for years."
Wolfe Bender listens to advice during his News Writing morning workshop. He took the class to learn more about the journalism industry and AP style. One of the things he enjoyed learning was "how to format the articles appropriately." On July 13, HSJI ended with an award ceremony.
