День первый: Today we arrived at Sheremetyevo Airport in Moscow, Russia. We traveled by taxi to our hotel on the other side of the city. On the way however, we had to stop as we saw St. Basil's Cathedral. It was very brightly colored compared to the other bland commercial buildings nearby. There are multiple crosses on top of the onion shaped domes. This is meant to represent the East Orthodox religion (a branch of Christianity) which is the main religion of Russia. St. Basil's is considered to be the New Jerusalem of the world, and it is sacred to Christianity.
2日目: Today we landed in Japan after a long journey over Siberia. Immediately after landing we went straight to the public transportation and made our way over to Byodoin temple. The temple is not very far from Osaka and Kyoto. From the outside, it is mostly red and white with sloped roofs. This style is very common among temples around the country. The temple was built in 998, and has faced many fires over the centuries. The only section of the temple that survived the fires is the Phoenix Hall. Inside the hall are some areas for worship, and some open to the public for tours. All of the artifacts are held nearby in the Treasure Hall.
तीसरा दिन: Today we landed at Madurai Aiport in Madurai, India. We traveled by taxi to Meenakshi Amman Temple. It is 170 feet tall in height, and it uses the style of architecture called Dravidian. The temple is a worship site for Hinduism. According to Hindu religion this was built as a shrine for the king of gods, Indira. Meenakshi Temple was very beautiful with its organic stone work which tell a story up the temple.
दिन चार: Today I visited the city of Lumbini, located in Nepal. According to Buddhist mythology, this is the birthplace of Buddha. I was able to walk around the gardens, granted I was required to remove my shoes. I still had a wonderful time visiting the birthplace of Buddha. I then left for Bodh Gaya. Bodh Gaya is, according to the Buddhist religion, the place where Buddha received his overpowering and extreme enlightenment. I was able to take a few pictures of this statue.
لمدة خمسة أيام: Today I went to visit the Kaaba, located in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. I myself was unable to enter where the Kaaba was, because I do not belong to the Islamic faith. However, I was able to interview a local Muslim who has seen and knows a lot about the Kaaba. He told me that the Kaaba was a structure built around the Black Stone. The Islamic faith believes that the Black stone was sent down from paradise by Allah. When presented to the stone, Muslims kiss and touch the stone. I then went to visit The Dome of the Rock. The Dome of the Rock was built in 691 CE. It is considered a shrine for both Judaism and Islamic faiths. The Dome of the Rock wasn't made for the purpose of everyday pray, but as a shrine for pilgrimage. The Dome of the Rock is located in Temple Mount, Jerusalem.
שישה ימים: While I was in Jerusalem, I visited the Western Wall, or better known as the Weeping Wall. Here, many Jews come to pray, not to the wall, but to the Dome of the Rock, located behind it. The Western Wall was built in 20BC by Herod the Great. The wall is 62 feet high and 1,601 feet long.
