Early Life

Thomas Jefferson was born on April 13th, 1743 in Shadwell, Virginia. JEFFERSON'S FIRST MEMORY WAS ON HIS FATHERS LAND WITH ONE OF THEIR SLAVES. HIS FATHER WAS A WEALTHY MAN. HE HAD 8 SIBLINGS AND WAS A SMART CHILD. BY AGE 9 HE HAD BEEN FLUENT IN 3 OTHER LANGUAGES. HIS FATHER DIED WHEN HE WAS 14, SO HE INHERITED HIS SLAVES AND LAND.

Education

At age nine Thomas started meeting with a minister-teacher nine months out of the year. He then enrolled at William and Mary for college

Career

Before Thomas Jefferson was president, he worked as an architect. He also signed the Declaration of Independence, freeing the 13 colonies from the British's grip.

Presidency

While in office, Thomas Jefferson bought the Louisiana Purchase.

Impact & Legacy

Thomas served two terms as president, from 1801-1809. As a president he signed the Declaration of Independence , freeing the 13 colonies from the British. "To learn you have to improve, to improve you have to try"
