My Best Of Collection By Lily Thompson

"Photography is my greatest passion,"

Photography has been a large part of my life since I was eleven years old. From wandering through the woods with a dinky point-and-shoot camera, to chasing the sunset with my dearest Tom (my current camera, a Canon 6D), to hopefully travelling the world capturing humanity the way I see it; photography is my greatest passion. Even if I'm poor and every cent I make is used to fund what I love, I'll be happy.

I've had the chance to work for amazing publications such as The Paolite newspaper, the Hillcrest yearbook, the Paoli News-Republican, and the Times-Mail. My passion and hard work has awarded me great success so far, I can only hope it continues as I leave my hometown. Friends, family, and acquaintances alike have trusted me to capture their specials days and events: weddings, senior photo shoots, so on and so forth.

"A good photographer can capture the world, a great photographer can make it look better."

Being able to accurately capture what I see and even enhance what I see in the world and in people through my camera is one of my most valued skills. I have learned all the rules just so I can break them. A good photographer can capture the world, a great photographer can make it look better. There are very few feelings better than getting "The Shot".

"Taking photos is my happy place and my favorite thing to do,"

My high school experience was completely different than most. I found so much more enjoyment in capturing the fun and excitement of my peers rather than participating. I decided early on that I would rather take pictures than play sports or be in clubs full time. I believe that decision is one of the best I have ever made because it made me so happy. Taking photos is my happy place and my favorite thing to do.

This year, I focused on making stories. Two of my favorite stories were display through two other spark stories. Check them out at the links below.

This isn't a comprehensive collection, but this does include a lot of my favorites. Watch out for my name, and brag to your friend that you knew me when I was in high school. However, I hope my photos speak for themselves.

I am headed to Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY for photojournalism this fall. Thank you, Paoli and PHS for making me who I am and for helping me hone my skills and find my passion. Enjoy my collection.

Thank you PHS
