When he was 13 Milton dropped out of school
In 1883 he started the Lancaster Caramel Company, which was Hershey's first successful candy business.
In 1893 he started Hershey chocolate
In 1907 he created Hershey kisses
That same year he built Hershey Park to create a pleasant work place for his workers
In 1909 Milton and his wife Catherine created the Milton Hershey School
Milton had a ticket to board the Titanic but had a last minute change in plans and had to take another boat

Milton Hershey was successful due to his hard work and determination
Milton died on October 13, 1945
