In this unit I learned how to balance and manage a checkbook, or reconciling a bank statement. Throughout the course of this unit we learned how to write checks, and endorse them correctly, or to endorse it too another person (Special Endorsement). I also Learned how to reconcile a bank statement. I think both of these could be very beneficial to me later in my life.

Learned terms like dividend, mutual fund, bonds. This can benefit me later in my life, if I was ever to looking to invest. Or even now, I know how to invest and can start early, maybe taking a safer route, that can build over time.

Buying Car/Researching One

In this unit, I learned how to purchase and properly research a car. I learned terms like invoice, MSRP, etc. I can make use of a lot of this later in my life. I learned that I should know the model, make and year. Calculate the costs of the options. If I am buying a used car, I need to do research as well, and probably little more in-depth research. Like the prices of Trade-in, Private Party, and the Dealer Retail. Stuff like the fuel economy , and mileage on the car. I should learn about every cars safety features, for example the Crash Test Rating, and basic safety list.

Complaint Letter

Complaint Letter

In this portion of the class, I learned how to write a complaint letter, to major cooperation and/or small organizations. The best use for the complaint letter is that I now know how to properly address a company if my product has a defect. For example I wrote a letter to Nike, about a rip in my cleats. They responded with an offer for a full refund. Overall I can definitely see myself using this in the future, if I was ever to have a problem with a product.
