launch: June 6/15/2020 Texas
my mission will just be to collect data because i think if we try to colonize before we know more about mars it wont help at all because if we colonize and something comes up that doesn't help us and affects us then that would be bad.
according to NASA a shuttle with humans in it would take roughly six months to get to mars and 6 months back but the astronauts would have to stay there about 18-20 moths for mars to align with earth.
- Neil Armstrong pilot because i researched him and i found out he was the pilot for Apollo 11
- Michael Collins he will be responsible for the space ship when the others are on the planet.
- Buzz Aldrin he will be useful because he is a engineer and if something with the ship goes wrong he has more of a chance in fixing it.
- Valentina Tereshkova she was the first woman in space she is Russian but i think that her experience will help because she was in space for 3 days and orbited the earth 48 times
i was thinking about using a space x rocket to be exact the space x dragon i feel like it would be useful because it can taken 13,228 lbs in the launch so it is useful to take any cargo or even people.
in my mission i would not be trying to colonize right away i would just have a mission to research the planet more because i think it is better if only some astronauts take the risk of going to the red planet for research before we send hundreds of people so that we don't leave that much people with the risk of death.
