THE ANNUAL CYCLE

Winter

Winter takes place from December 1st until February 28th (29th leap year). When referring to the astronomical season, Winter begins at the December Solstice and lasts until the March Equinox.

Spring

Spring is the time period starting on March 1st and lasting until May 31st. When referring to the astronomical season, Spring begins at the March Equinox and lasts until the June Solstice.

Summer

Summer is the season from June 1st until August 31st. When referring to the astronomical season, the June Solstice is the start of this season and the September Equinox is the end.

Autumn

Autumn (Fall) is the time period from September 1st until November 30th. When referring to the astronomical season, Autumn begins at during the September Equinox and lasts until the December Solstice.
