Week of February 6, 2017 Highlights of the Oconee economic alliance's week

On the first Monday of every month, we'll be on air with 94.1 The Lake giving an economic development update. Be sure to tune in! We covered the upcoming Business Forum, the low unemployment rate, the Trends Report, Destination Oconee and we do at the Oconee Economic Alliance.
Tuesday morning, Destination Oconee conducted a walking street audit of Downtown Seneca, SC. We had a great turnout and got some amazing feedback from our participants and local business owners.
On Tuesday, we also met with some of the HR managers in the county to discuss the NOW Program and apprenticeships.

On Wednesday, we toured Baxter Enterprises and Hi-Tech Mold & Engineering which is the first facility in the Oconee Industry & Technology Park.

The building is complete and they are currently testing equipment.
Once we left OITP, we headed to the edge of the county to check on the progress of the new Gateway Signage. We can't wait to see the completion of this project!
On Thursday, we kicked off the day with a presentation from the Army Corps of Engineers at the Business Forum.
Thanks to Sandy Campbell for joining us!
After the Business Forum, we went to ITT and ITech for the February NOW Program visits.
The NOW Program toured ITT and ITech. It was great to see two very interesting facilities and the students got to meet ITT's Site Leader, Rob Hartman, and ITech's Vice President, Van Durham.
To finish the week, Janet participated in The Institute, which is put on by the SC Department of Commerce and the South Carolina Economic Developers' Association,

Join us next Friday to see where we've been throughout the week!
